More About Saralynn

Saralynn Nusbaum was born in Berkeley, CA, and attended public schools in Richmond, CA. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 1976 with a BA in Economics and began a career in sales. Saralynn quickly realized she was not an extrovert and, with her degree in economics, she began a long career in finance/accounting. Most recently, she was the Director of Finance for The Roda Group, a cleantech-focused venture capital firm. Prior, Saralyn was Controller for Berkeley Farms Dairy. Saralynn is now retired and living in Mariposa. She has been active in political campaigns. For instance, she served as treasurer of the “Yes on Measure O” committee advocating for a 1% Mariposa County sales tax increase to help fund a new hospital as required by California state law. She is currently the treasurer for her homeowners association, treasurer for the Bodhi Oak Zen Sangha in Oakhurst, and an at-large board member of the Mariposa branch of the American Association of University Women.

Saralynn believes that Mariposa County and the surrounding communities need access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Given her age and the demographics of the county with nearly 30% of residents being 65 years of age or older, she feels it is essential to have a hospital.
